After properly installing your hydrogen generator, you will notice a dramatic change in your miles per gallon. You will need to drive triple the miles to see your gas needle move at all, and you will feel a sense of euphoria that you probably didn't think existed *laughing*.

One of the things that my mom noticed within a few days of driving was that her durango would suddenly begin to use a tremendous amount of gas without warning, causing her to think that her install was done improperly or that the construction of her hydrogen generator was done wrong. When you installed your oxygen extenders, they helped your car to run lean and "trick" your O2 sensors into not pumping so much gas into the system when it senses more oxygen coming in. Even with the oxygen extenders installed, your car will occasionally sense more oxygen coming into the system and tell itself to pump more gas in to compensate for that.

The Dual Edge MAP/MAF Sensor Enhancer is a simple device that you can install yourself if you're comfortable with working with vehicle electronics, or you can take it to a mechanic to set up. It helps your car to omit that false signal that causes your vehicle to pump in extra gas when it isn't needed.

Driven By Water - Water/Baking Soda Solution & Finding a Place For Your Generator in Your Car

Because you're using distilled water in your housing, you will need to add something to the water to conduct electricity - that would be the baking soda!

You're only adding 1 teaspoon of baking soda to a gallon of distilled water. Shake it up really good and you're ready to go!

This video will give you all of the details to making the solution as well as provide tips on how to keep your stainless steel wire from corroding and how to keep your water solution from freezing in the winter. You will also need to decide on an ideal place to put your hydrogen generator under the hood, and this video will help you with that also.

Although you are selecting a place to put your hydrogen generator in your car at this point, you should not install it until you have attached the oxygen extenders to your O2 sensors in your car. This is important to keep your sensor from over-pumping gasoline into your car because of the changes in oxygen. Revisit the first video before installing your hydrogen generator.

Driven By Water - Building Your Stainless Steel Wire/ Plexiglas Electrode

I'm assuming that the choice you made for your housing is the glass canning jar, and will discuss building your electrode from stainless steel and plexiglas.

I will be buying a plastic water filter container and will show you how to turn that into your housing for your hydrogen generator in a later video, so stay tuned if that was the housing you chose.

I chose the stainless steel wire and plexiglas to build my electrode because I learned that it produces triple the amount of hydrogen that the stainless steel tubing, stainless steel pipe or stainless steel plate electrodes produce, it is very easy to assemble and is much more cost efficient.

Driven By Water - Prepping Your Car & Assembling Your Housing Cap

Now that I've peaked your interest in HHO Gas by showing you why you need it and where it came from, you're ready to begin prepping your car to hold its own hydrogen generator.

As I've mentioned before, I'm a 29 year old single mother of 3 and my background is mostly in administrative duties - I have no prior background in automotive repair or car systems. Driven By Water - I decided to convert cars because...

Gas has been on an up and down rollercoaster at least for the past 5 years. One thing we know for sure is that we probably won't be seeing .89 gas again.

Some of us have gotten very frustrated spending another car note worth of gas to run our cars each month and have purchased 2 seater vehicles or scooters to to afford those changes. For those of us who support 2 or more children and simply do not have the money to purchase a smaller car for less cargo, we needed a different option.

I'm a single mom of 3 children, and 4 of my 8 siblings have kids. So, outside of work, there are such a tremendous amount of errands and side places that need to be driven to, I couldn't consider a smaller car than my 1994 Lincoln Towncar. With two adults, 8 people can fit in that car lol. It guzzles gas like it's an SUV, so I needed to find a solution to my gas issues.

I started researching ways to add to the miles per gallon to my car about 6 months ago. My mom was talking about bio fuels and considering the purchase of a diesel engine car, and it was just too expensive an idea for me to consider. Diesel engines can run on vegetable oil with an additive put in the gas tank, so if you get vegetable oil from your local diner (they typically have to pay to get rid of it, and will surely give it to you for free) but for my wallet, investing in a diesel engine was too far out of my price range. I didn't have an extra $15,000 - $30,000 laying around to get another car.

One day, I was checking email when an advertisement popped up that says "Learn how to run your car on water." I simply had to check it out.

After viewing that website in disbelief, I went looking on YouTube for examples of people converting their cars into water/gas hybrids. I found several other websites and a minimum of 10 different ways to put together a small device out of mostly household products to slip under the hood of your car.

The device is called a Hydrogen Electrolyzer, also known as Hydrogen Generator, and it is made out of very simple materials. In the videos that follow this blog, I will show you how to make your own, create a switch to turn it off and on, and help you troubleshoot it so that you get the most miles per gallon out of your existing vehicle.

I'm now on my third conversion, my boyfriend's car, so you'll see me systematically convert his 1999 Ford Escort into a water/gas hybrid with ease and grace =D through blog and video.
